I don’t regret the path I’ve taken to becoming a full-time writer because it has made me who I am and I use my journalism, PR and communication knowledge everyday to help me grow as a better writer.

I’ve been amazed by the support, help and overall community of the writing world and this is why I want to give back to the writing community. I teach time management techniques to writing moms and busy writers through WANA International. Why do I know my techniques work? Well, because I developed them based on my failures, trial and error and eventually–success.

I couldn’t do what I do without the loving support of my devoted husband, active two-year-old daughter, neurotic dog, and miracle bunnies.

I’m a member and editor of the HEA Newsletter for the West Houston RWA. I’m a PRO status member of RWA National and North Houston RWA.

I invite you to explore my site to learn about my current books, projects and classes.

I’ve always been an avid reader. As a child I use to sit in my Rubbermaid bin of stuffed animals in my closet wishing to travel to Narnia. That plan never worked out but I took my love for reading and started creating my own worlds or others to get lost in just as I felt with Narnia. In high school I won the Scholastic Writing Contest with a short story. Too bad that teacher told me writing wasn’t a career!

I am a graduate of Baylor University and received BA’s in both Journalism/PR, Communication Specialist and a minor in Business Development. I’ve been the youngest Business Development Director for a major advertising firm.  I’ve worked for companies such as Rubenstein and Associates in NYC, CBS Television, historic theater districts and I even hosted my own local show on NPR Radio.

My debut book, “Caring for Your Special Needs Dog” (Cool Gus Publishing) is dear to my heart as it was inspired by my dog, Oscar and I’m proud to use my talents to help others. I’m an award winning freelance journalist of 10 years with both local and National publications. I also write Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction.
